AH

Ahmad Hariz bin Mustafa

Operations Director · Kuala Lumpur

The Discovery Workshop was a two-day commitment, and I was not sure what we would get out of it going in. By the end of day two we had a shortlist of three realistic candidates for our logistics operation, with a clear account of what each would involve. The written recommendation was useful enough to share with our board directly.

AI Discovery Workshop · April 2025

SL

Siew Lan Tan

Head of Finance Operations · Petaling Jaya

We ran a pilot on invoice field extraction over five weeks. The team was practical — they did not try to solve everything at once. The integration required more back-and-forth with our ERP vendor than anticipated, but they handled it without drama. The reflection document was honest about what worked and what needed adjusting.

Rozita binti Mahadi

CEO · Professional Services Firm, KL

We have been on the Quarterly Review for two cycles now. The risk register is something we actually use between sessions — it surfaces things our internal team tends to overlook because they are too close to the tools. The outside perspective is the main value here.

Krishnan Jeyaratnam

IT Manager · Manufacturing, Shah Alam

I was expecting more of a sales pitch for specific platforms. The workshop was genuinely neutral — they mapped our supplier query process and showed us three different approaches, explaining the tradeoffs in plain terms. We left with a shortlist we could actually act on, not a vendor recommendation.

VP Operations · Financial Services, KL

The vendor independence is real. When we asked directly about their relationships with AI providers, they were completely transparent. The quarterly review has caught two vendor term changes that our internal team did not flag — that alone has been worth the fee.

Quarterly Integration Review · May 2025

Procurement Lead · Retail Group, KL

We used the pilot for classifying supplier communications. It was not without friction — there was a period in week three where output quality dropped and needed recalibration. What I valued was that they were upfront about it in the reflection document rather than smoothing it over.

Case Studies

Three engagements in more detail

Logistics company: Mapping AI readiness before any commitment

Discovery Workshop · 2 days

The Situation

A mid-sized logistics operator in Klang Valley had fielded several vendor pitches for AI tools and found it difficult to evaluate them independently. Senior leadership wanted an outside view before committing budget.

The Engagement

Mentari Logic conducted a two-day Discovery Workshop at the company's Shah Alam office with four operations leads. The sessions examined document processing, driver dispatch, and customer query workflows against sector case studies.

The Outcome

The written recommendation identified document processing as the strongest candidate — with the lowest integration complexity — and suggested deprioritising the other two areas. The company used the output to decline two of the vendor proposals they had received.

"Exactly the clarity we needed before spending anything."

Professional services firm: Piloting customer query classification

Process Augmentation Pilot · 5 weeks

The Situation

A professional services firm in Kuala Lumpur was spending significant staff time manually routing incoming client queries. A prior attempt at automation had been abandoned after integration difficulties eighteen months earlier.

The Engagement

A five-week pilot was scoped to test AI-assisted classification of incoming queries against a defined routing structure. The integration was built around the firm's existing helpdesk platform. Staff orientation covered a small team handling query intake.

The Outcome

Classification accuracy reached 78% within the pilot window — sufficient to reduce manual handling on a defined subset of query types. The reflection document noted two routing categories where accuracy was insufficient and recommended keeping those in manual review.

"The honest reflection on what did not work was as useful as the positive results."

Financial services group: Ongoing oversight across three AI tools

Quarterly Integration Review · Two cycles

The Situation

A financial services group had deployed three AI tools across operations over two years. The board wanted a standing mechanism for oversight — particularly around data handling and vendor terms — without building a dedicated internal function.

The Engagement

A Quarterly Integration Review arrangement was established covering all three tools. Each cycle includes a review session with the VP Operations, usage and vendor data analysis, and delivery of a written summary and updated risk register.

The Outcome

Two vendor term changes were identified in the first two cycles that had not been flagged internally. One tool was recommended for renegotiation; one was flagged for closer monitoring in the subsequent quarter. The risk register is now tabled at each board operations review.

"The risk register has become a standing agenda item."
